About us

We are a group of Indian expats / travellers who are living in / visiting Paris. For our shared love and enthusiasm for Indian languages and literature, we gather at various public places / the Indian embassy in Paris to hang out in the company of books. We primarily organize literary events with a well-defined agenda which focuses on reading / writing in Indian languages. Our events are purposefully kept small and free with the goal of creating a safe, accessible and inclusive environment for the members to form meaningful connections over their shared literary interests, and love for India. Since the common language known to most Indians is English, we conduct our events in English.

Agenda

Since we were unable to invite many enthusiastic new members at our last event due to the space constraint, we are organizing this special event dedicated to welcome them. Since we are in April, there can not be a better place than the Paris Book Festival for doing this!

• 10:00 - 10:15 : Arrive at the Grand Palais, and clear the security checking

• 10:15 - 10:30: Meet with the ille_paris team, and other participants near the information desk

• 10:30 - 11:30: New member introductions over some coffee, followed by Q&A in the common area

Practical Information

• Participants need to purchase their own ticket to the Paris Book Festival in order to enter the Grand Palais. The ticket costs 5 euros if purchased before the 9th of April. You can purchase the tickets online using this link: https://www.festivaldulivredeparis.fr/fr/billetterie

• Please select 10 AM entry slot while purchasing the ticket.

• The ticket is valid for the whole day. Hence, you can also explore various other events happening (mostly in French) at the Paris Book Festival with the same ticket.

• In case you can not make it to the event for whatever reason, please make sure to cancel your RSVP. Not showing up without cancelling your RSVP results in not getting invited to our future events.
